Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion
| Introduction: You are part of a team
of scientists who were commissioned to study causes, effects, and solutions
to global climate change. Your findings will be used to formulate a
plan to impact the change of our climate. Without your help our planet
may soon become too warm to inhabit
.Task: Your group will study and report on one of the following topics related to global warming. Once you have chosen your topic, click on the title to get a list of resources to find out more about your topic. You will then report back to the sub-committee how your topic will impact global warming. Make sure to include your point-of-view and lots of data to back it up |

Each member in the group will need to be responsible for more than one task. Review the tasks below and decide who will be responsible for each.
| Team Leader the main contact for the teacher | Internet Research Team finds supporting evidence on the Internet | Library Research Team finds supporting evidence in books, newspapers, etc. |
| Presentation Designers use Power Point, construct a display Artists board, or create a video to add visual interest to the presentation | Writers prepare the presentation notes for the team, using a word-processing program | Presenters present the group’s point of view to the Senate sub-committee. All members of the group will need to play some part in the actual presentation |
Internet Investigation Hints
Investigate the resources that you think will be most helpful in clarifying your group’s point-of-view.
If you choose a site, make sure you can explain why you feel it is helpful.
Prepare a summary of the site.
Group Discussion
As a group, discuss the major issues your group needs to present as its point-of-view.
Even if you don’t all agree on how to proceed, you must reach a consensus on what and how to present to the class.
Group Presentation
Keep in mind that you have a limited amount of time to present your point-of-view to the sub-committee. Plan accordingly!
Practice your whole group presentation ahead of time. Make sure that any special equipment you may need will be available and working on the day of the presentation.
Be creative! The options listed so far are only suggestions of ways that you may present.
You should have the following:
A summary of the websites you visited including the reason why you think it may be helpful to your research.
A prepared presentation with notes and visual aids. This may be done on Microsoft Powerpoint or traditional posters. The presentation will be graded using the Presentation Rubric.
Indicate for which task each member of your group was responsible.
You should now realize how many factors relate to the problem of global warming. Did your learn anything new as you did your research? Will anything you learned help change the way you live your life? Do you think anything you learned will have an impact on the future?
