Class + Lab

Class plus Lab. Put what you learn into action!  Spend three hours in class learning, exploring, and practicing; then dedicate the last two hours in lab mode, planning and developing your very own classroom lesson.

Registration for fall classes is open!  

Online registration closes two weeks prior to the start of class; please call to register after that time (614-470-4488).  Basic membership is available to all educators at no charge. Check the Member Schools section to see if your district is an Advantage or Premium member. Graduate credit is available for all of our classes for an additional fee. Cancellations received two weeks prior to the class start date are eligible for a full refund less a $25 processing fee; review the cancellation policy for more information.

Technology integration can redefine a classroom on multiple levels. This session will look at developing an engaging learning environment by creating interactive, self-directed learning experiences for students. We'll look through a unique lens at familiar tools within Google Drawing and Slides, and use them to create you own interactive lessons. You’ll also learn how to find other high-quality content and applications to enrich your curriculum.

Participants must bring their own iPad to class.

Differentiating Learning with Rotational Models

Digital tools integrated into lesson designs extend a teacher's aim to meet the diverse needs of students to work at a level of complexity that is just above their individual comfort zone. Blended Learning Rotational Models promote a means of raising the ‘ceiling’ for all students to engage in challenging work. This session will explore how to create differentiated lesson designs utilizing multi-media text sets in playlists, choice boards, menus and hyperdocs supporting Lab, Station and Individual Rotation Models.

Open Educational Resources and eBooks Unite!

Creating eBooks to supplement your course or having students create eBooks can be great way to share content with other students or a larger audience. In this class we will demonstrate how to create ebooks that don’t require expense software for purchase or special devices to read. We will also explore OER (Open Education Resources) these are resources that permit their free use and re-purposing.
